Balmoral Show

This year’s Show ran from Wednesday 15th May to Saturday 18th and is Northern Ireland’s largest agri-food event providing a fun-filled day out for all the family. The Show attracts more than 115,000 people and takes place at Balmoral Park, Lisburn.  Local agriculture is very much at the heart of the event, with livestock competitions, Show Jumping and the latest advances in agriculture on display.

Gary was honoured to be invited to put on a Cookery Demonstration at the NI Food Pavilion, where those that gathered could sample the best local produce, be wowed by the spectacular entertainment, enjoy fantastic shopping, music and even a fun fair.

Institute of Hospitality Awards 2019

The Institute of Hospitality NI Awards Gala Dinner was held on the Friday 17th May at Titanic Belfast . These awards are the longest established hospitality awards in Northern Ireland, recognising the success of individuals working in all sectors of the industry.

Gary was a finalist on the evening in the ‘Restaurateur of the Year’ Category, an award he had already won back in 2017.

Ulster Chowder Championship 2019

After Chef/Patron Gary Stewart’s successful back to back wins of the Ulster Chowder Championships in 2017 & 2018 Gary and Tartine Head Chef Stephen Lampard claimed 2nd and 3rd place in the 2019 competition.

Rathlin Sound Maritime Festival

Chefs Gary and Stephen were honoured to recently be asked to put on a Seafood Cookery Demonstration at the ever popular Rathlin Sound Maritime Festival, an exciting annual celebration of our rich local maritime history, culture, music, and food that took place between 24th May and the 2nd June 2019.


The festival is about inspiring a passion for the sea as well as celebrating local culture, bringing together a rich mix of activities and events both on the sea and on land, including a focus on local cuisine, music, maritime heritage, history and culture.

All Ireland Chowder Competition 2019 and All Ireland Tapas & Pintxo Championships 2019

As reigning Ulster Chowder Champion Chef Gary Stewart is ready to compete once again in the All Ireland Chowder competition this Weekend in Kinsale.

At it’s conclusion Gary will also be travelling to the take part in the All Ireland & Pintxo Championships on Tuesday the 8th and Wednesday 9th April in Tralee - a competition he is very much looking forward to competing in for his very first time.

Tartine is TEN!

We are celebrating ten successful years in business and want to take this opportunity to thank our customers for all of their fantastic support in helping to make Tartine the success that it has been

Our mission is still as relevant today as it was back when we started... to serve delicious, affordable food that will make guests return time after time.

Since 2009 Tartine has gone from strength to strength, with owner and chef, Gary Stewart, crediting the restaurant's success to the loyal and dedicated staff it boasts.

Gary said: “We have an amazing team at Tartine, they all work very hard to make our restaurant a success and to be celebrating ten years in business is such an achievement, but one that wouldn't be possible without customer support.”

A celebratory party was held recently where Gary give the staff the night off and brought in Robert Curley of ‘Slemish Market Supper Club’ to cater.

Gary said: “This was my way of thanking the staff for all their hard work and dedication. It was a pleasure to have Robert come to Tartine and prepare a three course menu using produce grown by Slemish Market Garden.”

BUSHMILLS SALMON & WHISKEY FESTIVAL 2018

BUSHMILLS SALMON & WHISKEY FESTIVAL 2018

Why not join us this year at the Bushmills Salmon & Whiskey Festival where Celeb Chef Paula McIntyre has been confirmed as the Special Guest!

The celebration, which is built on the village's most famous produce, returns on Saturday 9th June and 10th June promising two days of fantastic entertainment

Alongside the 'foodie' focus, visitors can expect live music and dance performances and an array of the very best of handcrafted products at Naturally North Coast and Glens Artisan Market.  There'll also be a family fun zone and street performers throughout the weekend.

All Ireland Chowder Competition 2018

On 22nd April Tartine was proud to compete in the All Ireland Chowder Cook off in Kinsale, giving Chef Gary a chance to showcase his award winning “Maritime Red Chowder"

It was hard work but what an experience!  A great trip all round, allowing Gary and his team to meet many fellow Chefs and Foodies alike, before relaxing and enjoying the best of what Kinsale has to offer, drawing much inpiration along the way.

Award Winner at The Institute of Hospitality Awards 2017.

The Titanic Belfast was the prestigious venue for this years IOH 2017 awards ceremony. A fabulous night to experience and a delight to announce that Tartine's, Gary Stewart won Restaurateur of the year.

Thankfully you don't need to spend time in Gary's downstairs loo to view the contemporary trophy, it has pride of place in Tartine's display cabinet.

Wine tasting with JN Wines in Dublin

On Monday 27th March we spent the day at Stanleys restaurant in Dublin wine tasting.
JN Wines of Crossgar were opening up their portfolio for scrutiny from some of Irelands top wine connoisseurs ....us included. Chef and Owner Gary Stewart and Managers Paul Kane and Colin Neill have found some tantilising wines which will feature on our list soon.

Finalist at The Insitute of Hospitality NI awards

Gary Stewart has been shortlisted for the prestigious award of "Restaurateur of the year" in the 22nd Annual Institute of Hospitality awards. The awards ceremony will take place on May 5th 2017 at the Titanic centre Belfast. The awards reflect excellence in the hospitality industry and after a rigorous interview and presentation process we are proud that our chef and owner has made it through to the finals.
